Abstract:
In order to understand the yield-increasing effect in maize, by different mulching, the effects of different mulching on irrigation amount, soil temperature, soil moisture and maize traits and yield were analyzed. Results showed that under the same irrigation condition, compared with full double-ridge mulching with ditch irrigation (treatment B) and half flat mulching with border irrigation (treatment CK), full flat mulching (treatment A) had the minimum water use for the whole growing period but higher soil moisture, water use efficiency and yield. No significant differences were found among different mulching for soil temperature and maize growth. Treatment A had the highest maize yield up to 14 763 kg/hm
2, which was 4.18%, 31.3% higher than that of treatment B and treatment CK, respectively.
